Preparatory course for the TELC/Goethe Certificate B1

This is the perfect advanced class to prepare for the B1-exam.

Language exams are always special. You can learn as much as you have and still not pass if you don't know how to take on the tasks in hand. We will take sample/exemplary and show you strategies, so you can master all of the 4 parts (reading+grammar, hearing, writing, speaking).

Requirements

  • Regular and active participation
  • Doing one's homework (and some follow-up exercises for preparation)
  • You've already completed an A2 course or are currently enrolled in one
  • Our Assessment Test for German grants you a B1-level
  • You know what to do with terms like Präposition, Synonym, Verb, Subjekt

When?

  • Every Tuesday and Thursday at 10.30-12h at ELI
 This course is preparing you for taking the B1-exam.

 What does B1 mean?

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages is a recommendation to compare the language aquisition and language skills of learners throughout all European languages. There are 6 levels (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2) describing what learners are able to do and speak after having completed the respective level. Completing B1 implies:

  • Hearing
    I can understand the substancial information when it's about work, school, leisure, etc. I am able to understand shows when their characters speak distinctly.
  • Reading
    I can understand texts of everyday or business language. I am able to understand personal letters, when they are about events or wishes.
  • Speaking
    I can take part in discussions about family, hobbies, traveling or current events.
  • Writing
    I can write simple texts about familiar topics. I am able to tell of my experiences.
